Robert Edward Smith’s A Place of Beauty receives its world premiere.

Performed at the Boston Conservatory’s Hemenway Theater, the opera opens with the ghost of Isabella Stewart Gardner witnessing the March 18, 1990 robbery of her former home and follows with her reminiscences of her life.
